“When I Saw You Again” Finishes Tape B’s Album Rollout with a Flourish

Tape B officially wrapped up his album rollout. “When I Saw You Again” is the final single before Ghosts in the Static drops on October 2. Here’s what Mr. Tape B himself had to say about the emotional track.

“When I Saw You Again is a song I’ve spent a lot of time on. I started the project in December 2025 in the car on the way to a show in San Jose and it was just a 20 second drop idea at the time. Since then, I have made at least 12 different versions of it until I finally created something that truly felt like what I was going for. The whole song was made very intentionally and has a bunch of space to capture more emotion and feeling. I was trying to experiment with an “about me too” vibe for this while trying to keep it sounding as new and fresh as possible. As the last song on the album, I really wanted it to go out with something memorable and different.”

This song sounds like a blank canvas. While I was listening, my mind was bouncing through all the possibilities of where this song would fit into a Tape B set. “Is it an intro piece? OR maybe a melodic interlude in the middle to reset the crowd for the big finale. This song has so much space for another artist’s take. It would make an incredible melodic canvas for a remix contest. I think you could take this record in a lot of different directions. That’s the beautiful thing about EDM; the versatility and creativity never cease to amaze me.
